Death in the Family

Neko: 1996-2006

What I had thought was going to be my horrible Saturday became my horrible today.
Neko has been kinda sick for a while now. Lots of vet trips and tests later and they knew nothing except he lost weight and wouldn't put it back on.
I had planned to take him back to the vet on Saturday and was steeling myself for the fact that I wasn't going to get to bring him home.
On a whim I decided to take today off.
Just that feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I am glad I did.
Around 8:00 AM Neko woke, took a few steps and fell over.
I made a quick phone call and bundled him up to take him to the vet.
We barely made it to the car before he seized and shuttered a couple of times and then died in my arms.

I went to my parents and we took him to the crematorium.
I can't stop crying.
It is times like this that I really hate not having a "someone" to hold me while I cry.
I am going to try to sleep but, if anyone wants to distract me tonight and/ or tomorrow I am sure I could really use it.
If you call and I don't answer the phone just leave a message.
If you have distraction for me email me or comment here since I don't know how eager I'll be to answer the phone.

My poor baby boy...at least he won't be sick or hurt anymore....

The whole incident sounds so similiar to what I went through with my Simba.

Sorry to hear about him, hon, but like people have said, at least he's not in pain. I lost a kitten (Veruca's brother), so I know how you feel.

I'm gonna be pretty busy this weekend, but you owe me some playtime, and I'd love to see you next week...can we do that?

I lost a cat of 16 years a few years ago, I know how you must feel.

I just followed your path over here from dragoncon trying to discern if I recognized you and had any photos from the D*Con... Unfortunately, I don't.

I came across this entry and wanted to send my sincere condolances... my moogie is extremely sick right now, and I fear she won't be around much longer. Depressing and inevitable.
