Good film

Most of the things for the 48 Hour Film Project were really good. There are certainly a few gems. I wish I could afford to go to the ones tomorrow.
And to everyone who came out to be supportive I would like to say....
Oh wait, no one did.
Figures.

My team was mostly there and everyone loved my work. Strangers complimented me on our over all project, my performance and many many compliments on "how good [I] look on film". I give all the credit to the DP since he came up with a shot that really made my hair and eyes pop. The colors were striking.

Oh look. There went the towel....

Some of us have trouble making it during the week. Some of us who have come and supported other efforts of yours.

Oh no honey, You an Frannie have come out for as many of my silly little things as you can. And you live forever away and have early morning lives.

I am more irritated with people who I know live close, never (or hardly ever) come to anything I do and didn't really have any other obligations. I know there will be comments later about being being broke and all that shit. But it doesn't stop them from buying cigarettes, drinks, club admission, movie tickets....
It's ok. I just need to accept that in the scheme of things that spending money on booze and clubs is more important to some people than using that money to supports a friends efforts. Even if that friend has often supported their efforts.
It is a sore spot that has been brewing for years. It really started at Valentine's Day about 4 years ago when I did a piece that I wrote for the Dad's Garage Late night stuff. It was really personal and a really big deal to me and the only person there for me (other than Berny) was Katinsky. Then there were a few rounds of the 24 Hour Plays where I stepped up to direct as well. And that was a HUGE step for me. And NO ONE came.

It just really hurts.

I didn't know about it...I rarely have time to read LJ these days. This is the first time this week. Otherwise, Oz and I would have made a point to come out. Sorry!

You may not be looking at it the same way as some of your friends are. To you, it is come out and support my efforts. To them it may sounds more like, hey, come see this show. They may simply not see how important it is to you. Lowered expectation may go a long towards reducing how much people disappoint you.

BWAHAHAHAHA
Did you see the post I just made?
*g*
You and your boything got anything on tap for the holiday weekend? You off on Monday? I am broke as hell but I want to do something social. I am thinking of scrounging around to see if I can find my kite and frisbee and maybe invading Lena's and Rudi's and dragging them to the park. (I haven't told them this yet....)

lol...thanks for the heads up.

I thought we talked about doing piccie stuff on Sat? We're not doing a damn thing this weekend (other than MAYBE going out to Trish's at some point) so give us a call.

And I thought of you last night and sent good vibes. I mentioned it in a comment yesterday but you might not have seen it, yesterday was Delaney's birthday (the youngest niece) and since we missed her bday party last week we had to go out there last night so we could give the little miss her birthday present and spend family time.

We hadn't set at time but we did kick around the idea.
I am thinking I can scrape up change to grab some sodas and maybe a case of cheap beer. I own a kite and a frisbee although I am not entirely sure where they are.
I am thinking Sun or Mon for hitting the park. Aileen gets into town on Saturday so hopefully we can snag her and Evita. And day better for you than others?

Sun is better for me. I just committed to coming into the office on Mon to get some filing done that's been sitting around for a long time. (it's extra money, so hey).

However I can really come in at any point in the weekend and do it (she's out of town starting tomorrow so it won't make a difference what day I do it) so if Mon's the only day that works that's fine with me.

I'll give Kida a call once we have a more set day. I told Jill we've got peanut butter and jelly at the house, if someone wants to bring deli meats I've also got ketchup and mustard.

It can be a Hobo Day in the park!

Oooh...I haven't seen that one. I wonder if it screens tonight?
No, I was in a "Romance" called "Something Lost" Produced by Scorpion Sting Productions. I was the required character of Vanessa Topaz- Palm Reader.

I actually drove over there, but by the time I was able to get up there:
1. It was pretty clear that there would be no more tickets
2. The crowd was more than I could handle at the time.

I did think about you though.

Due to the way they were splitting up the showings there were still plenty of seats left.

But I get the crowd aspect of it...

I didn't make it out to see any of it. I didn't work on anything this year but I had planned on supporting everyone and all that, just didn't make it. I have no doubt you looked good on film. . . after all I've seen you in person! ;)
