A few of Life's Lessons...
May. 3rd, 2001 05:19 pmHaving your naughty bits stroked is not the same as having your ego stroked.
Having either stroked is not all that important.
You CAN stroke either on your own.
If you say you love someone you had best be willing to defend them.
If you aren't willing to defend them you had better not get upset when they defend themselves.
If you aren't willing to defend yourself don't expect others to defend you.
Have strength in your convictions or just don't voice your convictions.
You are never as tragic as you feel.
No matter what you have suffered someone has suffered worse.
Don't assume everyone has the same definitions.
Don't assume others know how you feel.
Be willing to tell others where they stand.
If you aren't willing to tell others where they stand the just don't give them the illusion of standing.
Don't use the affections of others to fill the lack of your sense of self.
Don't treat anyone's heart as a toy.
Never assume that your casual flirting is seen as casual.
If you are a casual flirter make sure the flirt-eds are aware of this.
Don't tell anyone anything that you don't want EVERYONE to know.
Never put anything in writing that you don't want to hear about from the rest of the world for the rest of your life.
If you are doing things that you don't want others to find out about then you probably shouldn't be doing them.
Never lie to your friends.
If you do, don't be surprised when they are no longer your friends.
Never put too much stock in your demons or your dreams.
Never tie your happiness to one person or thing.
Don't assume that when someone says forever they REALLY mean it.
Remember that no one can love you if you don't love yourself.
Always hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
Never forget to make wishes. After all, you never know who might be listening.
