In case you haven't heard tonight is the second (and final) night of screenings for the 48 Hour Film Project at The Portage Theater.
What happens when you give 35 teams 48 hours to write, shoot, edit and submit a short film? Oh, and you assign them a genre randomly. And one more thing- you give them a prop, character and line that must be included in the film?
Well, it is the 48 Hour Film Project.
For a measly 10 bucks you can check out 16 of these super short films tonight.

(And them vote for MIM Films "2-2-2-9" as the best of...I'm in that one :-) )

So the short of it:
What: The 48 Hour Film Project Screening
When- Thurs Jun 26 Group A- 7:00pm
Fri June 27 Group B- 7:00pm
Where: The Portage Theater- 4050 W Milwaukee- Chicago, Il 60601

Ok- You all know that The Signal Opens on The 22nd.
Just a few short days away.
I know you all want to get all of your friends to see the film.
But, to make it just a little sweeter-
I will send a prize- I don't know what yet but it will be related to the film and it will be uber cool- to the person who sends me proof of getting the largest group to see the film on opening night.
Send me a picture (that will let me get a clear headcount) at the theater holding up your ticket stubs, scan the tickets and email it to me- whatever.
Yes, I know there is a great chance of cheating at this but I am going to be trusting.

So, get everyone you know and go see THE SIGNAL on the 22nd!!

Wahhhhhh!!! I wanna go.
As most of you now this was made in Atlanta by some of my friends with most of my friends.
On a more egotistical bent I found out after its amazing reception at Sundance that the opening of the film is actually from a competition piece that the same filmmakers did that I am in.

I SO wish I could go.
Sadly, I am broke until the 15th and since I just started a new job it might be a bad idea to as for a half day on that Friday so I could make the 7:30 show.

To all of my friends in NYC (Lyra, Aaron, Voltaire, Cliff, Oddree, etc) you should go see this if you can. And not just to stroke my ego. It was voted a "favorite" at Sundance and was bought that weekend for 3.2 million dollars by Magnolia Films. And knowing the plot, director, actors, etc I know it is going to be great and will appeal to most of you in a huge huge way.

Hey, Chicago people.
I just scored a handful of passes to see a free sneak preview of The Lookout followed by a Q&A with Writer/Director Scott Frank and actors Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Matthew Goode.

It is on Sunday March 11 at 5:30 pm at the AMC River East. Since this is a preview I highly recommend arriving early since they do tend to give out more passes than seats. Each pass admits 2. If you want one let me know and we'll work out a time/ place for you to get them from me.
